NDU IELTS center has been operating since April 2022 with the cooperation of the British Council and Nakhchivan State University. In addition to the official IELTS exams, the center hosts various academic English seminars and free conversation clubs. Since its inception, more than 250 candidates have taken the exam and received an official IELTS certificate. Some of them continue their education abroad. The Center makes the official IELTS test available to residents of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and to all candidates, regardless of residence or citizenship. The center has an important role in the implementation of English-language education at Nakhchivan State University. In 2024, 60 teachers took the exam at the IELTS test center at the expense of the university budget, and the British Council presented the university with an official "IELTS Test Center of the British Council Cooperation Program" certificate. The coordinator of Nakhchivan IELTS center is Bayram Aliyev.
