EMSA (European Medical Students Association) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization representing medical students from all over Europe. EMSA, which currently operates in more than 120 medical faculties in more than 30 countries of the world, is recognized by institutions such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the European Parliament, and the Council of Europe. EMSA Nakhchivan is a community established with the support of students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Medicine of Nakhchivan State University, which has an international connection with EMSA. Nakhchivan State University Faculty of Medicine has been a member of EMSA since 2023. Associate membership in May 2024, finally functioning as a full member of the organization from October 2024. The purpose of the organization is to contribute to the development of medical students in every sense (workshop, increasing scientific writing, trainings, twinning programs, social programs, etc.) and to represent our university in Europe. Additionally, Medical students; Encouraging participation in the creation of a medical education system that develops new educational technologies, educational philosophy, and interprofessional collaboration. To encourage medical students to increase public awareness of health-threatening conditions and mental health and to support conscious lifestyle choices. Medical students; To encourage people to be pioneers in preventive medicine, health education and popular acceptance of the concept of healthy and active living. Encouraging medical students to read and publish scientific articles by strengthening their theoretical and practical skills through education and research, increasing the value of medical science.
European Medical Students Association - EMSA Nakhchivan
EMSA has 6 main pillars for the formation of different fields of work: Medical Science, Public Health, Medical Ethics and Human Rights, European Integration and Culture, and Health Policy. Pillar means pillar in English. These pillars form the basis of EMSA. EMSA Nakhchivan also takes these columns as its basis.
MEDINUS MAGAZINE
EMSA Nakhchivan has established MEDINUS Magazine to increase students' writing ability and interest in scientific activity. In the MEDİNUS magazine, the articles of academics of the faculty and the coverage of student scientific works, the latest innovations in health care, information about the work done by EMSA Nakhchivan are published annually or semi-annually, etc. based on its pillars, is a dynamic platform where a wide range of topics of interest to students, society and anyone interested in health are discussed. This unique project brings together the most relevant topics of medical and academic fields, public health education, valuable recommendations and inspiring ideas of local and international experts.
