The South Korean Center of Nakhchivan State University was put into use on November 11, 2011. The opening ceremony was attended by Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Korea to Azerbaijan Lee Ji Han, Rector of Kimchong University of South Korea, Mrs. Sung Aj Kang, Head of International Relations Department Hee Jun Lee and Assistant David K.H.Leenin.

Since the 2012-2013 academic year, there is a Korean language teaching center at Nakhchivan State University. Not only students of Nakhchivan State University, but also people from any region of Nakhchivan can apply to this center to learn Korean. At the end of the course, students are presented with a certificate on behalf of Nakhchivan State University. Korean language is easy and intermediate level. The center also has a TOPIC exam preparation course. Korean language classes and Korean culture classes are held in the center for 1 year - 2 semesters. In Korean culture classes, students can have a number of experiences such as watching Korean movies, cooking, national games, national dances, and playing national musical instruments.
